MAISLIC

Memphis Association of Independent Schools Library Information Consortium

The Memphis Association of Independent Schools Library Information Consortium was formed in 1980 to facilitate library cooperation among its members and is open to all Memphis independent schools.

A primary goal of MAISLIC is to utilize technology to better serve the libraries' communities. To that end members share a fully integrated library automation system, iBistro, that both increases the libraries' efficiency and provides library users with Internet access to member's collections. In addition, students and faculty enjoy circulation privileges at all MAISLIC libraries.

In 1981, MAISLIC became the first independent school member of  SOLINET/OCLC, an international bibliographic network. MAISLIC is also a member of Tenn-Share, a cooperative network of Tennessee libraries, and the Memphis Area Library Council.
